Fact About The Bananas

1. Bananas are recommended as part of the BRAT diet when a child has an upset stomach.

note : The BRAT diet consists of bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. According to WebMD, "These bland, low-fiber foods are easy to digest and may help with diarrhea, and most people who have a stomach illness can tolerate them pretty well."

2. Bananas have been tied to reducing the chance of developing asthmatic symptoms.

note : According to Dole, "Children who eat just one banana a day have a 34% less chance of developing asthmatic symptoms, according to new British research."

3. Bananas not grow on tree

note : The banana plant is not a tree, but the world's largest perennial herb and grows up to 25 feet, developing massive banana leaves that may extend 9 feet in the air. Edible bananas are technically berries and do not produce seeds. Their rhizomes, or roots, can be hundreds of years old.
